HDMI splitters allow you to send a signal from 1 source to multiple HDMI enabled displays. HDMI splitters are also known as HDMI multipliers. Typical terminology is to call a splitter '1:4' or '1x4' which stands for 1 source to 4 displays.
HDMI switches allow you to plug multiple HDMI source devices into one HDMI display. For example, many HDTVs only have one HDMI input. To use a DVD player and a DVR with HDMI connections, you would need 3 HDMI cables and a 2x1 switch. Plug both HDMI devices into the switch, then plug the switch into the HDMI port on the display.
HDMI repeaters are used to boost the digital signal when running long HDMI cables. We recommend using a built in repeater with all HDMI cables over 50 feet. For a list please see HDMI Equalized Cables.
